Biography

I am a creative lady with a passion for hearing peoples stories and drinking tea! I have thirteen years experience of running reminiscence sessions, activites and training in Sheffield care homes. During this time I have been engaged in a number of collaborative projects with Sheffield University, Sheffield Hallam University plus various artists, museums and galleries.
I love to be creative and helping others to join in with me. I have had several exhibitions promoting a creative approach to dementia care.

Having been awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship I travelled for two months in 2015 across Europe and South America researching artist's engagement with lifestory work in care home settings.

'Storytelling with a Twist' was born out of this special project and I am very excited to be able to offer reminiscence workshops to the people of Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
In January 2017 I opened a Creative Reminiscence Resource Library at Montgomery Theatre, in the Heart of Sheffield City Centre.

I believe laughter is the best form of medicine, and have a mission to bring fun, social interaction, and creativity to the heart of care homes.

Opening of the Creative Reminiscence Collection
On January 23rd, Sheffield Lord Mayor and Councillor, Denise Fox, opened the Storytelling with a Twist- Creative Reminiscence Collection at the Montgomery Theatre. It was a great time of celebration and a marker point in activity provision for care homes in Sheffield.
